As part of the 2019 International Day for Universal Access to Information, and in conjunction with our 2019 Appeal, Radio 1RPH is holding a public open day on Saturday, 28 September, between 10am and 3pm.
This is an opportunity for listeners, supporters, volunteers and the interested public to join us for a look at what it takes to turn print into sound and provide Canberra and the capital region’s Radio Reading Service.
We have plans for the following activities:
- Station Tours – hosted, small group tours to look through the station and facilities. Check out our Facebook page for more information.
- Sausage Sizzle – selling sausages and drinks.
- Jumble Sale – a ‘white elephant’ sale of quality donated goods and surplus gear from the station.
- Lion Dance performance – a traditional Lion Dance performance and blessing of the station. Bring your camera!
- Information stand– information about the station, volunteering and support.
All funds raised will contribute to the 2019 Radio 1RPH Appeal.
Please come along and be part of the spirit of the event and help us raise the all-important profile of our station in the community.
If you would like to help out, please contact us.
