The Canberra Day Appeal has now concluded and Radio 1RPH has smashed through the target of $10,000. While we won’t win the highest dollars donated or biggest community support, we are in the top 10 on both of those leader boards.
Radio 1RPH volunteer readers and presenters joined guides and runners from the Achilles Running Club to walk or run around Lake Burley Griffin on Canberra Day. It was a sterling effort for some of the Achilles runners who had backed up from the Orange Running Festival the day before, some of them sporting some bright red sunburn but looking stunning in their sunflower tights.
Radio 1RPH is proud to join the Canberra Day Appeal for 2025. With the expert help of Hands Across Canberra, we are asking for your donations to keep us on the air by covering our broadcast costs. That’s things like broadcast equipment and maintenance, electricity to run our studios and transmitters, and newspaper and magazine subscriptions. Our radio and podcast services are free to all our listeners.
