International Day of People with Disability

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is held on 3 December each year. It is a day to raise community awareness, understanding and acceptance of the 5.5 million people with disability in Australia.

10.30am Interview with Renée Heaton, Chair of the ACT Disability Reference Group.

12.15pm extracts of interviews by Powerd media’s Emma Myers with the Minister for Social Services Amanda Rishworth and one of the IDPwD Ambassadors, Khadija Gbla.

8.15pm Repeat of Disability Reform – IDPwD edition, with several stories about people with disability from the IDPwD website.

The Enlighten Festival is on again in 2024. Join Maryanne Gore and Margaret Cresswell on their tour of our national iconic institutions describing the illuminated projections.

The special program will be broadcast at 8.45pm on Friday 1 March and repeated at 3.00pm on Saturday 2 March.
